The European squad will not be featuring at the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown after crashing out of the qualifier in last place.
ENCE's form continued to decline since qualifying for the ESL Pro League playoffs as they were eliminated in dead last place from the Nordic Masters Fall 2021. This comes not long after the team were bested 2-1 in the Malta Vibes final last week by Entropiq, meaning they have now lost their last three matches since the success of their ESL Pro League group campaign.
Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer and his team kicked off the GSL best-of-one group with a match against world #57 Dignitas, taking on the Swedes on Nuke. Despite ENCE posting a solid seven T-side rounds, Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg managed to produce some vintage form for this matchup, putting up an impressive 94 ADR and a 1.29 rating as Dignitas took the match 16-12.
Of note for ENCE was star AWPer Olek "hades" Miskiewicz' failure to get anything going on this map, posting a 0.77 rating as he sat bottom of the scoreboard.
Following this was another Nuke game, this time against the #35 team in the world, Finns HAVU, and it was a similar story to the previous match. Once again ENCE posted a respectable score on Terrorist, this time going one better and managing eight rounds, but again they struggled badly on their CT side, with HAVU racking up nine T rounds without reply to take the map 16-8, knocking ENCE out of contention.
This time around it was Paweł "dycha" Dycha, ENCE's other top performer from the ESL Pro League group run, who had the unfortunate off-game, posting eight frags and barely 50 ADR.
After being eliminated in-game leader Snappi himself identified their CT-side struggles on Nuke as the reason for their defeats and stated that they "need to look at these games and improve it before EPL playoffs." They will need to move quickly to improve with the playoffs of ESL Pro League just around the corner.
The Nordic Fall Masters event continues Saturday, with Copenhagen Flames taking on Lyngby Vikings, and fnatic facing an as of yet unconfirmed invite. The two winners of Group B will move onto the semi-finals alongside the already qualified Dignitas and HAVU from Group A, and will compete for the single BLAST Premier Fall Showdown spot on offer.
